BrightTalk: Data Center Pulse "Stack": Treating the data center as a system
The data center contains a tremendous number of variables including where it’s located, what tier level it’s built to, KW per cabinet and dozens of others. Of the facilities and operations that anyone is responsible for the data center is one of the most complex and costly. Failing to use a holistic, “systems” approach on this “complex & costly” environment is risky to availability, agility and the bottom line of your business. Another factor driving the need for a more holistic approach to managing your DC strategy and on-going operations is the rapid change occuring in this space. More change has occurred in IT infrastructrure and in data center facilities in the last four years than in the previous 20. The Data Center Pulse “Stack” was created to help the data center staff communicate, plan and manage change to your system.
